“A dream that will need all the love you can give, every day of your life for as long as you live.”
The Sound of Music
I’m Kendra, a recovering government communications professional discovering my own voice after a decade of writing for others.
I live in Northern California with my husband David and our girls Ellie and Lauren.
My writing reflects my life and largely centers around my family. My aim is to present life and motherhood in a positive, but realistic, light; to show you that bright moments of joy are woven through all the repetitive days of the little years. When you visit here, I hope it feels like you are sitting down to coffee with a friend.
A few things to help you get to know me…
I am a former Communications Director for a California State Senator turned stay-at-home-mom, both goals I set for myself around the age of 12.
My husband and I grew up around the corner from each other but didn’t meet until we were adults living 400 miles from home. He is my favorite person, and I’m so thankful we met when we did.
We are one of the “1 in 8” couples who have experienced infertility but surprised all of our doctors by getting pregnant during our first round of treatment. That treatment resulted in our oldest daughter who is a smart, spunky force to be reckoned with. I write more about our fertility journey here.
I have traveled to Albania five times over the last 15 years and have a deep love for the country and people.
I’m an extroverted introvert.
My love languages are words of affirmation, Kate Spade, and quoting the TV show “Friends.”
I am learning to live life simply, joyfully, and one day at a time.
Welcome to my world.
